I have both the Leupold Gold Ring and a Swarovski. I am a big proponent of things Leupold but I bought it first and then found (what I think was a good deal) a private-sale-used Swarovski, because I just wasn't that satisfied.
I'm a bit of a fanatic over optical equipment, meaning I may be a tough critic and I do LOVE the portability of the Leupold and the protective cover.
Leupold is clear but the size of the objective (50mm) makes it almost impossible to use the higher magnification in low light, which is when you can see game. The 80mm on the Swarovski is a much greater advantage than the higher-quality glass and coatings.
Within the shadows, go quietly.
