Which Bow?

I have always shot PSE bows and it is time to get a new bow. Which I thought would be easy. But than my brother and father bought new bows last year. Both bought Diamond bows ( Justice and Black Ice). I have not yet shot an X-force but I love the Black Ice that my father bought. SO here is the question. Black Ice or X-force. Or has anyone heard about the new Diamond Marquis?

Without a question X-Force!

Shoot them both. Listen, there are people on this site with a very narrow view, what works for them they think will be perfect for everyone. Shoot several bows, including the ones you have listed, and more. Choose your own rest based on how you hunt, and your own arrows, etc. Go to an archery pro shop, but be objective, shoot them with closed ears to everyone. Just my opinion.

+ 1 to the X Force
thing cannot be beat you won't believe it when you shoot one, it will be the only thing you'll shoot. period

+1 outdoordan
I just bought a new bow last month. I shot just about every bow out there, it took me almost a month the finally decide on the bow that I thought was right for me. shoot them all and then go from there. When you find the right bow you will know.

Outdoordan is spot on, IMO. I've been doing this archery stuff for over 30 years, and it ALWAYS should come down to your personal preference.

There are MANY reputable manufacturers out there producing quality bows these days. Shoot them all, because what one archer recommends may not feel good to you. Personally, I tested the X-force when it first came out and wasn't overly impressed.....some guys like it. See what I mean? :)

I have shot all those bows and I have friends that own all of those bows!

When it comes to the Black Ice you are looking at a shorter axle to axle bow that has above average speed for a single cam! My friend shoots his at 29 inches 70 pounds with a 400 grain arrow and is getting around 290 to 292 fps. It is dead in the hand and silent! My dad who has shoulder problems wanted to get into archery hunting and had me set him up and I had him get this bow because of the ease of drawing and how easy it is to shoot with the 80% let off.

Now the Marquis is very similar to the Black Ice but it is several inches longer axle to axle. It does make the bow more forgiving and this bow is about 6 to 10 fps faster. The one thing about the Marquis I do like over the Black Ice is the new roller system and the built in STS. Again this bow is dead in the hand and silent. Bowtech did a great job by upgrading the there single cam line again this year!

As for the X-Force! Alot of people swear by it and I will admit that it will be my next bow! IT is not quite as smoot as the Black Ice or Marquis but you cannot expect that from a dual cam bow! It is a very smooth draw for a dual cam and it is very little to no hand vibration and with the speed you get it is very surprising. The X-force is also very quiet for the speed you get. My friend shoots an X-Force at 85 pounds and 30 inch draw with a 410 grain arrow I believe at 367 fps!!! It is without a dought IMO the best speed bow on the market. Also the X-Force does have a shorter brace height and if you are not used to shooting a short brace height watch your forearm. I would recomend if you decide to go with this bow to get a STS for it and it will stop any problems with the string slapping your forearm.

As stated before the best way to decide on which one to get is to go and shoot all of them side by side if possible! Draw back close your eyes and just focus on what it feels like when you release. Focus on if you can feel anything in your hand and forearm. And listen to what it sounds like also. Good luck on your purchase I do not think you can go wrong with any of these bows they are all top of the line and will get the job done!

Outdoordan gave you some great advice. there's a lot of good bows out there today and you need to shoot them to compare. You have parallel limb models, two cam and one cam models, long and short bows etc. Go shoot some and see how they feel and shoot and you'll most likely make the best choice for you. Stay with a good company and you'll have a warranty if you need it. Buy through your proshop so they can help you with setup and tuning and the proper fit. Proper tuning is essential to accuracy in archery and a well tuned bow will always make you a better shot. One things for sure all of todays bows are better than anything out there 10 years ago so it'a win. win for you.

I would additionally add that there are great lower priced bows out. Of course there are companies that have good advertising budgets and you will here about their bows, however, there are other companies that make excellent bows, at excellent prices that just may be the ticket. These bows have great value for the dollar.

How much would someone have to pay to get a x-force, just the bow, nothing else.

The list price on PSE website says $849.00 for the X-force.
I would shoot all the top brands out there and buy what fits your pocket book and your shooting style best.
Seems like everyone is hyped up about the X-force and saying they shoot 360+fps but they list this with an IBO rating of up to 340 fps.And that's with a 350 grain arrow and people are getting higher speeds with heavier arrows. What's up with that? Tell the truth.

bowtecher alot of people are shooting 70-80 pounds and an arrow that is close too if not less than 350 grains. That being said the x force is the fastest bow out there hands down. very smooth drawing and produces more kinetic energy than any thing out there. that being said i have been shooting everything i could get my hands on lately and for over all performance the Hoyt katera xl tops the list in my opion. the hoyt is smooth drawing no hand shock (which the x force cant compair too) and very forgiving. this will most likely be my next bow cause it feels right to me.

X-Force is great if you wanna shoot through a brick s**t house, but i shoot the mathews switchback and i love it. Real smooth, and plenty fast. But Its all about whats comfortable to you.

I think the X-Force can be beat. After all, one got bea a few weeks ago at a 3-d shoot. It was an awesome bow that shot incredibly flat out to 102 yards. The guy had a 120 yard pin on the bow, and one pin for 25-45 yards. He had complaints that the bow was hard to shoot accurately. Everything had to be perfect in form and release in order for a good shot. My switchback xt is perfect for me because I can have a flaw in my form or release and still expect the arrow to be there. But that x-force was one awesome fast flat shooting bow.
