where to go for elk?

I've been huntin deer in idaho for the past seven years, but I'd like to try for an elk. If anyone could point me toward a zone that would provide good chances for an elk. Not asking for honey holes just a place with good numbers and a chance to harvast an animal. Thanks.

Come on, guys - I archery hunted the panhandle in 2007 and saw plenty of elk. Granted we wore out the mules (the 4-legged kind) during the hunt, but we had fun and certainly had shot opportunities.

Right off Hwy 93 in Twinn Falls.....there is a real nice Elk farm, you can see the bulls from the hwy! Not sure what they charge to shoot em!

The Yellowstone zone use to be really good.

Avoid North Idaho, as bad winters in 07/08, and 08/09 have crippled our elk herds. Look for units that have better winter ranges and you will find a healthier herd, & more numbers.

Hit 39 runnin and don't look back, lots of elk still up there, quite a few nice ones if you are a rifle hunter....
