Where do you find your Elk bone

It seems like I find alot of my Elk horns on the north faceing slopes of steep draws or canyons, I was wondering where you guys find most of your elk horns. And why you think it is they are there.

Goes to show you that if the elk live in the area; the horns will drop almost anywhere. I was tending towards south facing slopes where the elk might have had dry ground in the spring. Alot of the horns I found this past year were on ridge tops, game-trails, and southerly facing areas.

What is the vegitation like where you hunt, I have also found a few in grass flats but 90% have been on the north slopes. I figured they liked to bed in the snow and shade on the north slopes because where I hunt is alot lowerer pinyon/juniper country, and can get quite warm.

i found most of my horns in the trees. why is this, well i think the elk are trying to hide from the wolves casue during elk hunting they stayed in the timber a lot. also there is a lot of people that only check the open and dont search the timber.
