Trying to get some pictures of mature bucks for a project I'm working on and can't find any. Went out to 54 and 45 today and all the roads are closed. Don't need to be close have top of the line equipment. Any suggestions? Thinking about heading out to the owyees. Where else you fellas been seeing them? Feel free to pm me.

I heard theres some giants in Texas and you can get real close for good pictures or some good VIDEO!But on a serious note the deer in 45 are still hanging high in the unit,we havent had enough bad weather to push them down real low yet.

I would give unit 45 a break. We are lucky that snow has not arrived. we don't need them ran all over by horn hunters and photographers. Ron

I couldnt agree more with Ron on this one.We dont need anything pushing the deer around but its inevitable.Theres already hornhunters scouring the hillsides waiting to be the first but I believe most of them are wise enough to give the wildlife the space they need.I love to hornhunt but wont start til most the deer have dropped.I am however going to be hunting for coyotes and chukar so theres not much difference between the two.I believe photography would put the least amount of pressure on the animals. It sounds like timoutdoors has the right equipment to give the animals room.Show us some pics if you get some.Good luck.

stay in 45 if you want. i guess these guys failed to see that you posted about having quality equipment and not needing to get in on the animals. post pics if you can. good luck.

+2 deepforks

a professional photographer with good long range photo equipment will be much less of a nuisance to the animals then many of the chukar and coyote hunters (on this board) out there blasting away. if the deer can't handle a camera flash then I don't think they are gonna make it through the first half inch snow storm up there if we ever get it. don't be ridiculous people

I shot 2 coyotes today and it was right in front of about 20 deer and not a single one of them died of a heart attack or anything, they didnt even run away.I just cant figure that out.Damn those people that hunt more than one species.LMAO.Im going to try and shoot a wolf this weekend but ill try not to inadvertantly kill any other animals just so all the experts know that beforehand.

hahaha i love the attitude. i can't help but get a laugh out of every controversial topic posted on this board. those deer were probably stoked you blasted those yotes. i think the deer are fine in their wintering grounds as long as people aren't literally chasing them around with their quads or shooting AT them, especially with this mild winter. they will be fine. they are not limited this year in their places to hide, winter and relax since there is no snow.
