when will mtn goats get shaggy in montana?

They weren't nearly as shaggy in early Oct as they were during 4th season a few years when I was scouting/hunting them in Colorado.

This is how mine looked on the hoof in ID during the last week of Sept. You arent going to get ZZ Top length at that time of the year but the hair is really good and thick. Its always a question about waiting for Nov and risking getting snowed out or going during a more reasonable time of year like the beginning of Oct.

thanks gznokes. which unit in idaho did you go to? im outta boise. im really leaning towards trying to get this out of the way before oct 10, because i also have a controlled idaho mule deer tag in a unit with a couple of toads spotted out.

btw...did you score this one? im still trying to get a feel for the size of these things...
