That's a tragic story that makes my heart ache. And it has happened too many times.
I hope she would consider putting it in a conservation easement. That is great country and I'd hate to see what it will become after the ranchettes invade it and wreck the winter deer habitat.
I just put some numbers together. From 1982 to 2012, the U.S. lost over 40 million acres of ag and forest land to development. That's an area bigger than the 6 New England States together and bigger than Iowa as well. At this rate, it makes a person wonder what we are leaving behind for our future generations.
My best to her and I understand the dilemma. Just wish there were easier/better answers.
