i just had a wierd conversation with an arizona forset official, most of the kiabab national forest roads are closed and will probably remain that way for weeks to come due to wet weather. then he told me that if i was to see someone operating a motor vehicle in these closed areas to try to get a description of the vehicle, plate number, and to try to find where their camped and then to call either the g&f or the forest service and they will issue that person a citation. he then told me that goes for anyone i see operating fourwheelers off established roads even after the closure has been lifted. he said its not illegal to drive offroad, but it is illegal to damage wildlife habitat and vegitation. which means if there is any moisture on the ground or you leave a tire track your in violation of the law. so what we came up with is everyone i know is armed with our cameras this year, you ride off road or into a closed area we are going to get your picture! and you will be cited. they're asking for our help and i'm more than happy to do it!
