Personally I am looking for a buck over 24" wide this year. I was able to harvest a nice 3x3 last year that went 23 3/4" wide. Where is everyone else at as far as what you will shoot? I leave tomorrow around noon for the opener.

3x3 muley and any bull elk. Then again I've had this rule for the last 12 years and have had nothing but tag soup since. LOL!

Cheers,
Pete

After unsuccessfully drawing my general ML tag for the first time in my life, I'm returning to archery (I havent hunted with a bow since back in the days when you could get 2 deer lol). So my expectations are kinda low as I've never killed a deer with one, any buck with it would be cool. That said, I have a nice little 4pt picked out and patterned I'm hopeing for.

as usual, 26" typical 4x4 plus eyeguards or something with nontyp points and only a little less than 26" width.

i am sure i'll get a doe with my doe permit :)

Three point or better for me! Now we'll see if I can stick to it!

c3, check your mail. I will be happy to just be back out again. The offseason is too long.

I will shoot anything 24 wide or larger. Must have at least a 3 point frame though. I have scouted a 27 inch 3x3 that is really tall, However the one I'm hoping to wrap my tag around is a 4x5 that is high with a 28 inch spread. The opener is the day after tomorrow. Good Luck to all.

this year is an elk with my bow and another 4x4 muley the area i am hunting in wyoming is 4 point or better so i can not go lower than that archery season opens wen. the first can't wait

at least a 20" 3x3 ..... however I have found one very weird looking buck that is only about 15" wide and i really want to shoot him. He has lots of points and drop tines and about everything.

I shot at a 4x5 with a drop tine on saturday and at a 3x3 tonight. Both shots were really hard shots and i only have story about that big one that got away.

My brother killed a 23" wide...23"high 4x4 opening day here in utah.

Been on 4 nice whitetail bucks the last 3 years but have yet to get a shot I would be comfortable with,I have yet to stick a whitetail with my bow and I want to very badly, this year is gonna be the one, I also have a archery elk tag and will be looking to knock one down bigger than the one I have on the wall.
Good luck everyone with this years hunts

I have 2 general muley tags here in Wyoming, 1 is an any deer type 1, and the other is a doe/fawn type 6. I am hoping to bag the doe right off the bat for the meat and then hunt a little harder for the buck this year. Any larged body buck will do however, because I will be movinf out with my son after hunting season and the meat in the freezer will be nice.

This year like always, i will be able to hunt all of my November coues hunt. i have a 80" and about a 60" on the wall(the 60 i missed the bigger buck and it was getin cloe to the end" so my realistic goal for this hunt will be a 90". i think it can be done with a lot of hard work and patience. i saw 1 90" last year and hope to see one 90" this year but this time on the ground.

after scouting june july and augest then half the bowseason i'd be happy to see a 170" deer so far though no luck.
the deer on muddy took a hard hit last year with rifle hunters and lions then add in range in vary bad condition and cwd it could be years tell it gets back to where it was last year.
unless i see 170 or better i'm not shooting any of them.
biggest i have seen was a young buck with potential could be about 160" gross.
elk are doing good there but the deer are hurtting.

I like to see folks post about what they'll shoot. Especially ones where they say I just like THAT one for their own reasons.

What I've never understood is why spread seems to be such a big factor in folks thoughts. Spread(I'm mostly only able to hunt WT) has very little to do with end score.

I suspect its personal but I'd much rather shoot a tall heavy buck than the wide ones I see. Even with muleys the wide ones usually don't have much for forks. But I will shoot a weird looking one for the wall. My buddy has a double main beam buck working now and has one more weekend of bow season left after this one..... But its been 90+ degrees.... Oh well.

Just my thoughts.

bowseason is over i only had two shots all season and i let them pass still hunting mr big one month of hunting left here in wyoming i got my elk so meat isn't a factor allthough i'd like some real tough buck back straps off old grand daddy

My goal would be a ugly old non typical, with cheaters and drops. But in reality I can't seem to pass up that 20 to 30 yrd broadside on any buck.

Good luck and Good hunting!!

it is my first year with a bow so i am willing to shoot anything things with horns

My first official post here. I've posted here a few times as a guest when that was still allowed, but now I'm official.

I hope to kill a muture mule deer buck with my bow this year. I hope to get drawn in AZ for elk and would be very happy with a bull over P&Y minimum. I might even consider an ID or CO otc hunt.

I also plan on getting in much better physical shape, and getting my shooting in top form.
