It's been a while since I packed in and lived out of my pack. So I'd like to see what some of you are packing.
Post em up!

Oh man,
Monkey butt is bad enough but red hot monkey butt...I don't think so

I do like the foil pack of tuna and chicken to add a little ooomph to Ramen noodles and such

LAST EDITED ON May-17-12 AT 11:14AM (MST)[p]Here's my ultra light list. Been refining it for years. Changes a litte year to year. But overall caputres what is the necessities for me. My usual trips are 5-8 days. Food detail is not on the list, but I can tell you I don't pack food that is not at least 100 calories/ounce and I shoot for about 2200-2500 calories/day, which is about 1.5 lbs of food/day. For long trips I usually cache, in my general hunting area, much of the weeks supplies, and come back for restocking when needed. For a week, my initial pack load going in, with water is about 62 lbs. Hope that helps.

I'm hoping to draw Bookcliffs deer, and hopefully a Colorado archery elk hunt. Both will most likely be a spike camp 5-10 miles in and hunt from there.

LAST EDITED ON May-18-12 AT 03:12PM (MST)[p]Nate Simmons and Cameron Hanes both have great articles on backpacking in the backcountry. Nate Simmons most recent article came out in the Elk Hunter mag that was mailed out to everyone.

Here is one of Cameron Hanes's equipment lists, the other is in his book Backcountry Bowhunting.

I do like Forkwests list. You can tell he has done it a few times.
