I know this will most likely get a lot of responses. All I want to know what your favorite rest is and why you would recommend it.

thanks Scott

Shooting fingers, release, carbon, aluminums?????????? Too many variables to even give an opinion.

Yes you're right, you can get a 100 different answers on this question, and most are probably correct for the use they were intended for.

The best type of rests for me are the ones that cater towards hunting. I don't shoot 3d so am not concerened with micro type adjustments. Therefore I like such ones as the Bodoodle shoot through rest for a solid type one instead of ones like the TM-hunter rest. As far as drop away rests go, I currently have been shooting the NAP 2000 fallaway now for 4 years. It works great for me and I haven't found a broadhead yet that I couldn't tune easily with my setup. Now there are other good rests out there such as the Trophy Hunter, my son in-law uses that one, I don't care for it because if you turn your bow a little left or right the arrow can come off the rest.

Now the NAP won't do that, it's held very secure for the not so perfect drawing or shaky movements one may have!!

I'm not a whisker bisquit fan, so can't comment on that other that when I tried it, it tore my fletchings in less than 30 shots. Now I've heard they worked on that problem, but there's too many good rests out there to worry about that problem, for me anyway!! Hope this helps!! ElkNut1

I put on a whisker biscquit this summer and love it. Have not had any problems with it tearing my fletchings. It is great for stalking and is silent.

Nap Nap Nap because it is the only rest I get!!

I had the trophy taker drop-away and it was loud and created alot of vibration.

My pordner shoots through the whisker bisquit and after shooting it all year at shoots and hunting he is regreting the wear on his fletchings!

I would have to cast my vote for the whisker biscquit. I have one on both my bows and I love it. They are very quiet and there is no way your arrow will fall off.

Another vote for the Whisker Biscuit. Great for still hunting through the woods. Who cares if after a year of shooting it wears a little on your fletchings. Spend some change and have your arrows refletched or better yet, learn to do them yourself.

There are sure a lot to choose from. I started with a Golden Key, with micro adjusters. Great for 3D shooting, but not the best for hunting. I am starting to look at drop away rests, and have been gravitating towards Muzzy's zero-affect.

Good luck!

For a great rest for fingers or a release shooter, try a Golden Key Superstar, they are just plain awesome. If you like the idea of a drop away rest, my choice is a trophy taker dropaway, its got a tough as nails attitude, with superior clearance , it makes it easy to shoot all types of brodhead and fletching types. I do purchase a better type of shelve arrow holder, I think NAP makes a good one. Trophy taker is a very simple, well constucted rest, that I dont think you will ever wear out in your lifetime. Its got big lock down screws, that dont come loose if tightend properly. They also make a shakey hunter, that has a wider launcher. Take your trophy's to your happy huntin ground, SEE YA.

Trophy Taker for me. I've been shooting mine for two years now. No problems, and I can really put a nice helical on my carbons and not worry about fletching contact.

I use an APA ultimate twister rest which is a full containment drop away. The arrow can absolutely not fall off of the rest which is great for hunting and stalking. I doubt if it is a very well known rest as it is made here in Saskatchewan by APA innovations which is a very small company. It has worked very well for me since I have bought it and I love that it is full containment. Here is a link to their site. http://www.apaarchery.com/

I use a NAP 4000 fall away right know with great results but I have heard great things about the Golden Key TKO fallaway and will probley try that one next.

Whisker Biscuit, because it's effective, quiet, and will NOT "dump" your arrow in "crunch-time".Perfect for all-around hunting :stalking, stand hunting, and canting any direction.

No Guts...No Story!

Trophy Taker, I have never shot broadheads as consistend with a fixed rest like I have with the Trophy Taker fallaway. I have shot a few other fallways with success, but I like the simplicity of the Trophy Taker. One thing I would recommend is that you build a custom arrow cradle. I have not seen one from any of the fallaway rest makers that I really like.

I used a liquid steel in a putty form, I formed the arrow cradle with a large aluminum arrow shaft so that when I covered it with fuzz it would closely match the dia. of my carbons. It is very quiet and I can tip my bow 45 deg without the arrow falling off the shelf.

I just switched to the wisker biscut this season for hunting and absolutly love it shoots great and has not tore up any fletching and for the price you cant beat it.

The thing that bothers me about most rests is moving pieces. It calls for springs and screws, it means it can fail in the field because some screw comes loose. Have an allen screw on a TM hunter pronge come loose and you are out of tune now! So I shoot a Hunter Supreme rest. A whopping $12.00, a launcher and a cushion plunger. Add a little moleskin and it doesn't wear out. And I have it set up for a true **** vane out. Best risor clearance you can get. I have been shooting one since 1987 and don't have a reason to change.

Whisker biskit if you are all about hunting. Works great in all temperatures, up, down, etc. Your arrow is always there for the shot.

Another vote for Whisker Biscuit. I have one on each of my bows and one on my son's. No moving parts, easy to set up, tune and fool proof. Only recomendation would be to make sure and use the ones with the cut outs for easy arrow loading.
