What would you do?

So, lets say you are out scouting for areas where you find the majority of your sheds each year. The area is a wintering range and so is closed off until a certain date. However, you are glassing the side hill and see a dude walking down scattering deer every which way and packing sheds in his hands before the due date. Im not the type to turn one in for that. What would you do?

I would have turned them in a heartbeat, if they are breaking the law. These are the people who give shed hunters a bad name and they need to be held accountable for thier actions, even though it may just be a slap on the hands.

I guess I don't really understand why you wouldn't turn them in if they are breaking the law? You were playing by the rules by watching the deer and waiting for the area to open, but then you watch someone breaking the rules and you will allow them to get away with it? If we don't turn people in who are already breaking laws, the people who are obeying them will be the ones who suffer the most by having more restrictions and shed seasons.

I totally agree with torch, why should
we have laws if nobody enforces them.

There are not enough enforcement agents
around, so it should be our responsibility
to help enforce.

The sad thing about the whole deal was when I was scouting the guy out, the fish and game just drove right by me and waived. Later on he came back, and I ran into him and he asked me what i was doing and if I had gone out into the hills yet. What a moron. As if he would even ask a question like that as i am staring through my binos at a dude packin sheds. I have the guys license plate and its all on video. I just dont know if it is worth my time to complain.

Ok...so my buddy decides to log onto this forum in my name and decides to pull a story like this. He really is just making this up. Although...yes, I have the freaking guts to turn the suckers in as well. He just wanted to get back at me because I have been seeing some good areas to shed hunt as soon as this snow melts and I told him I would take him on my second outing. Good luck findin brown.

We are enjoying the outdoors. In fact its picking up those sheds that would be ours, if some moron would know how to have some respect, that we enjoy doing. Minding our own business is exactly what we should not do here! We don't mind our own business because us law abiding people want to have success too, and we understand the reason behind the law. Seeing some moron where they should not be pisses me off, if I ever see anyone in closed winter areas before the opening date, the fish and game will have pics, license plate numbers, and a million complaints from me. The law is for the animals as well as for us.
