What broadhead would you use on moose?

I would try and shoot either a Muzzy or G5 Montec. Extremely durable and perform very well. Either of those would be hard to beat.

This year I am using 125gr Snuffers from my recurve and 100gr Muzzy four bladers from the compound.

Id chose muzzys as the most inexpencive, wac-ems, or if you can afford them the G-5 motecs...Sharlin

All those mentioned are good heads. I'll tell you another great head that is accurate, very strong, and not too expensive. Innerloc! Blade sharpnees is good, machine stainless steel is perfect. If they publicized their head as much as Muzzy, Wasp, NAP, etc., they would be a leading seller IMO. Here's the link. www.broadheads.com

I would agree with BOHNTR on the innerlocs. i shot a bull elk hitting rib on entry and exit and went through the thickest part of the shoulder blade bone. the arrow was sticking out 3/4 on the other side.
i have swiched to the montec though and last year had almost clean pass through on a bull elk at 65yds.
im shooting 70lb compound 475grn arrow.
i like the cut on impact and durability of montecs.

I have shot Muzzy's for 9 years now and have downed a few animals with them, but i am gonna switch to rockets this year. I have had some deflection problems the last two years and I feel that it is due to the fixed head. All my buddies shoot Rockets and have had endless success with them... ( not to bash on Muzzy's cause I think they are a tuff head.)

I have shot Thunderheads for a long time but lately I've been disappointed in the penetration department. So I decided to go to a cut on impact head. Last year I chose the Magnus Stingers and I've been very impressed with them. With an animal the size of a Moose I would think you would want to go with a head that will give you the best penetration possible.

I think you will like the Stingers and how can you go wrong with a lifetime guarenteed head. You may want to try the Buzzcuts also, they are just the stinger but with serated blades.

Good luck,

IB

I shot Muzzy's for years. A great head if you can group them with your set-up. I'm trying Wac'ems this season. I tested some and they sure fly great. A bit pricy, but they penetrate well, are tough, and blades a sharp. We'll see how I feel at the end of the season.

My wife shoots interlocks, i have tryed to shoot them but past 60 yrds they get a bit squirley, I am shooting the nap crossfire and they shoot better than any head I have ever shot, i have shot dozens at 80-90 yrds and never had a flyer on me..
started shooting them last year and neither of the bucks nor the bull i shot with them seemed to be pissed that i didnt kill um fast.
i put 2 through my bull last year at 54 yrds he didnt know he had been shot either times he died within 5 yrds of where i shot him both times.
i would shoot a moose everyday with this head but in utah I only get 1 in my life so thats not going to happen dang it man.
