This is a buck my cousins wife shot this past fall. It scored 77". Had great mass but was short on length.(under 14")
If given another year, do antelope gain length or do they get most of it in their first 2-3 years, then add mass?

Thanks, Koby

I read some study several years ago that antelope actually peak in terms of horn growth around 3 years old. Genetics and environmental conditions are definitely the most important limiting factors, whether the buck is at his peak or not. Antelope grow their tops in the winter, so a hard winter might result in weaker tops than a buck has had or will have, and drought is another factor to consider that would effect the growth on a given year.
