My thoughts...
Ummmm... first of all its a cat.
Second of all... its a cat.
Its not a death threat. Its a... cat.
It is conceivable to me that the cat COULD have fallen into the pipe and become stuck. Cats are stupid. Could have climbed or jumped up onto the pipe and slipped inside. Once inside its gonna slide down and get stuck in the wet concrete as it squirms. Sort of like using a bucket of water to trap mice (no one comes to their rescue).
Its every bit as believable as the thought someone put it there. I've seen some unbelievable things happen. I have found birds in my wood stove after the summer that were obviously stupid enough to get in the chimney. I didn't call the cops and tell them someone was after me. I've seen cats get themselves into some awful messes that they could not get out of. Stuck inside machinery many times in ways you would swear they had to have had help getting there.
I'm sorry if I seem insensitve (especially HH). But honestly if you haven't at least thought about torturing a cat there is something wrong with you.
And last but not least...

When I was kid a neighbor heard that if you dip a cats tail hairs in gas and light them it would be quite entertaining.
He went ahead and the cat ran straight into the hay barn burning it to the ground.

I guess I didn't realize that cats are the gateway animal for criminals.
So back to my first post. Is putting a teetering block of wood on a bucket half full of water, with a little peanut butter on the block of wood as a way to trap and drown mice cruel? Is that the gateway to torturing kittens?

Mice are generally rodents that potentially carry diseases. Cats are generally pets that become family members in some people's lives.....not mine. As said before, torture and killing are two different things. Having to explain this to anyone shows how stupid they are.

All you sick cat haters should have meet the old lady from Kelseyville Calif. she shot and killed the a%%hole who shot her cat ,and was let go explaning that it was her only friend and companion. T would'nt want to be one of you if I saw you torturing or kill my cat. I just buried my cat that w2as 18 years old and I would much rather have that cat around than most of you idiots who think its all right to torture or kill cats. Feral cats maybe but not someones pet. It has been proven time and again that a lot of murderers and other demented people started out torturing or killing animals.
