Weyerhaeuser Purchases Plum Creek 13 Million Acres!!!!

That should hopefully open up some access to the Plum Creek lands here in the Northwest. Paid permit access but still access.

In the South East Plum Creek and Weyerhaeuser manage their hunting property pretty much the same. It's all leased to hunting clubs.

Years ago there may have been a policy where you could just buy a permit and hunt on their property but not any more.

Large corporations are afraid of lawsuits and the hunting clubs have insurance holding the landowner harmless and the hunting club helps controls access to the property with gates.

They also get the lease fee which is $2 to $3 per acre per year in my area but can be a lot more in other areas.

In western Montana all Plum Creek Timber property is already open to public use including hunting. Has been for many years.

My hunting spot is so secret, not even the elk have found it yet.
