Weminuche Moose

A friend of mine drew a bull tag good only in the Weminuche Wilderness area ( GMU 76, 77, 751 ) in Colorado. Does anyone have any pointers to share as to where to start looking and what parts of the wilderness area to concentrate on?

Squaw Creek comes to mind. Most are taken on the Lake City side of the divide. Rio Grande reservoir. Check out the harvest reports-----they have the drainages posted. Look like the same ones year after year. CB


I've been trying for that tag since it started. Conglads on a tuff draw. CB

I think your budy must have got my tag...i new the DOW messed up. Congrats on a great tag...they greatly reduced the number of tags this year in that entire area...not just the wilderness. From 5 down to 3 bulls and 0 cow tags...the DOW did their own harvest...oops i mean "transplant"...hopefully the moose had a better winter this year. One other thing...get horses lined up!
