We need new computers

My wife's computer is shot and mine shuts down while I am watching videos or if I am trying to edit videos. I think the CPU might be going out. I am looking at a couple of new ones. I don't use windows 8 so I am not sure what I need. She does a little bit of book keeping with hers and internet cr@p, and a little bit of work with pictures. I edit videos to put on Youtube and I work a lot with pictures and editing them.I also have some book keeping stuff I do with mine. Here are the two I am looking at.

Unless the bugs are worked out, go with Windows 7, not 8.

I love my Dell Inspiron - it is perfect for my needs, which are pretty similar to yours. If you are doing a lot of professional video editing, Macs are by far superior and the software tends to work better on them. But, if you are just doing it for fun and something on the side, then the Inspiron will work great.

I would shop around to as many places as possible and look for deals, including Office Max and Office Depot - sometimes they have great deals on laptops and desktops alike.

Basically if you know what kind of processor, memory, screen size, graphic card, etc. then you can shop around different brands too. HP's are awesome and they have some great deals on them regularly.

Unless you have a touch screen I would stay away from Windows 8 as well. We have it on the laptop we got for the kids last year and it drives me nuts. Most of the glitches have been figured out though and it is improving, it is just mean for touch-surface interfaces rather than a mouse.

you can get software from Stardock for $5.00 that will make windows 8 operate like 7. Well, pretty close to it anyway.

Windows 7 = PUTERS for Dummies like me!

I used to know of places worth Hiking in to for Elk & Deer!
Thanks to Illegal Bastards & the USFS not enforcing Rules you can Zing in to them Places on Wheelers now & not see a Damn thing!
But by GAWD it don't take long for them U-Tards to get there with all the Unethical BS and the New Technology!
