Washington Archery Elk

I'm a novice archery hunter. I've hunted for nearly 20 years with either modern rifle or muzzleloader. I really want to hunt archery elk but I can't get any of my hunting buddies interested in the idea. I'm hoping to get in touch with someone who wouldn't mind an extra guy tagging along on their elk hunt to learn the ropes. I'm a great cook and maybe we could work something out where I provide the food for the camp or something like that. I live in Bellingham but I grew up in Moses Lake so I'm pretty familiar with both sides of the state. We also have a family farm with great pheasant hunting in Moses Lake...we may be able to work out an exchange for services that way. Any help is appreciated.

Hi Paul, I Live in the mill creek (south everett)area and hunt mostly in Alberta every year. I will be bow hunting elk in washington this year at a drop camp in the william o'douglas wilderness. I too am new to archery hunting. I hunt the Bumping unit for elk and may be interested in hooking up with one of you guys. I might help you find a spot especially in exchange for some pheasant hunting.

Hey, huntnut,

How's the looking going? Did you find something yet? You ought to get out to any of the Custer Sportsmans shoots this spring/summer and meet a few of us. Possibly something can be
worked out with someone there?

I've shot steel there and my buddy keeps trying to get me out to shoot IPSC. Two of my good friends shoot out there all the time.

William O. Douglas is a great area to archery hunt elk in Washington. I just don't feel confident about archery hunting to pick it up again. If I ever draw a special bull permit again, I'd rather it be a modern firearm. A lot of bulls in that country. Beautiful in the fall.
