Washerless faucets

About 10 years ago I went to the hardware store to get some rubber washers because my kitchen faucet was dripping. The kind that have worked just fine for the last 700 years!!!

The guy at the store sold me on a washerless faucet, because THEY'RE BETTER. It took my entire vacation time that year to finally get it installed. And it didn't leak. Cool!

Well, now it leaks. About one drip every 10 seconds.

So I went on youtube and found a video how to replace the guts. I got the parts and replaced them. No drips! About $12, as opposed to the 7 cent rubber washers I used to buy.

It's been almost a week and now it drips. About one drip every 3 seconds.

I just shut it off under the sink now until I can figure out what to do. Maybe that's the only answer.

One pissed off Eel!!!!!

He's probably retired living the easy life from conning people into buying washerless faucets.

What brand ? Some of the washerless faucet have a cartridge that runs anywhere from 40 to 80 bucks. But if we know what brand your have , maybe we can help.

Lol!

Try removing the cartridge without turning off your angle stops under the sink. Probably just needs a little flush. :)

I think it's a Delta? It's the same style as in the video I found. I took it apart and took them to the store and got the same parts, exactly.

I told Mrs. Eel she can either wash dishes in the bathtub or heat water on the wood stove. Only the hot water side leaks.

I think she's going to call a plumber tomorrow.

A friend (not my friend elkassassin :D) told me to take it apart and stretch out the spring a little. I did it and bingo! No runs, no drips, no errors.

I still want my 700 year old faucet back. :D:D
