Wasatch West Help

Anyone have any helpfully information for a first time Utah hunter from California? I used to do a lot of fishing on the Provo river, Deer creek and Strawberry Reservoir but It's been about 10 years sense the last time I was there. I have a general any weapon buck deer tag for the Wasatch West (10/18-10/26) and it has been really difficult being a teacher to get time to get up there and scout. Can anyone please help with a general area I should focus on?
