This picture is of a friend of mine from Idaho. Now this might make a few wasatch hunters blood boil a bit, (because I know I personally have put countless days on the mountain myself), but he killed this deer with a grand total of one morning on the wasatch extended hunt. My wifes cousin from Idaho came down to hunt deer with me on the extended and he brought two friends. They are going to return the favor next year for elk in Idaho. Anyway Shawn Petersen is the name of the hunter in the picture and he shot this buck at 15 yards on his first morning he hunted in Utah. I had been after the buck for a few weeks and we got on him early that morning. After following tracks we relocated him and we all went different directions to cover escape routes. The buck tried to sneak out through the pines but Shawn was waiting 15 yards away. For those of you who have seen my deer picture on this site I shot it about 1 week later and only about 100 yards from where shawn killed this one. This year was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed hunting with my wifes cousin Reed Dayton and his good friends Andy and Shawn. These Idaho boys are hard core hunters and great guys.
The deer is just over 29" wide with a cheater on the deers left side
