As an organization I guess I figured they'd have a little more class but apparently not. It may not cost them much in Oakland but it will else where. It will in Glenwood, Utah. Sad situation.
You know, it's getting to be pretty sorry, when a professional entertainment business has to weigh which group of fans they are going alienate.
Damned if you do and damned if you don't. Pure political bull sh!t, regardless of your politics.
And.......... I wonder which President it was that first started all this White House visit for the "winners" in the first place? Was it for political coat tail riding or snow white gratitude of a grateful Nation?
Maybe sports and entertainment should get back to letting politician's govern and entertainers entertain, without political overtones, because, regardless of it's origins, that's what it has become. And it started before Trump became President.
I think it puts an unfair "Scarlet Letter Brand" on the forehead on every player on the Warriors or any other team member of any other National winning team, when, as an organization, they decide "not" attend or "to" attend, for that matter. There may be some Warriors that wanted to accept the invitation. We'll never know. It's more than peer pressure, it's their livelihood. Most would never dare speak their mind for fear of the consequences, one way or the the other.
What the hell does a political ideology have to do with excellence in athletics anyway?
I think, a United States President, should, at the beginning of their term, tell the entire entertain community, "Look, I'm not going to put anyone of you, regardless of your political ideology, on the stop, by inviting your team or your organization to the White House. That way you will never be put into the difficult position of coming between your ideology, as a person or a team, your fans, that support your livelihood. Under my administration, let's keep entertainment for entertaining and politics for governing".
