Logic says reduced traffic, pressure ect = bigger animals, Any experience good, bad, that can share not locations ect want to know was it what you thought it was?? looking at a few for upcoming season.
Thanks!!

The one in an area I hunt is better than the old days. We don't have to ask permission to tresspass any more just drive right on through and treat the place better than if you own it. Leave the carcass tag in the can at the gate and that's it !

I am hunting a Walk In Area this year for the first time that comes highly recomended by the local game warden and there game wardens have never steered me wrong in the past. I find them very honest and will give you good information.
My advice is call the game warden in the area and ask him your questions.

For antelope, they are pretty good. For deer, most of the ones I am aware of are marginal. The HMA's can be better, but there are a lot of walk-in areas for antelope where you can have a good experience. Good hunting.

Thanks for the reply's guys.. I will contact biologist's and warden's . I will be hunting some Hma's but want to explore some options.

Pressure depends a lot on the available public land in the area you are hunting. If there is little to none, the WIA's get hammered. If there is significant public land, then WIA's might not see as much pressure. Whatever the case, the program is great. Always donate a little toward them when you buy a license and abide by the few simple rules that they have. The G&F works with landowners to get access, and the landowners can take that access away anytime. Remember that you are on a private ranch, essentially for free, and that it is pretty cool.

"Leave the carcass tag in the can at the gate."

Make sure that is the landowner tag. Keep the carcass tag with the carcass.
