Vernon rifle hunt

My dad has a rifle tag this year and I hope we can find a good buck. We have been out scouting a lot this year and it has been fun. We have looked at some decent bucks a few shooters but nothing huge. The overall numbers seem to be down from years past. Any one else agree? Or am I just crazy and looking in the wrong places? Any thoughts

What do you consider huge? I had an archery tag this year and saw several bucks to shoot just couldn't close the distance. Ended up taking a good buck and saw several big bucks come off the unit. Would be willing to share info if you want just let me know.
