That's some sad news Sharlin. Van was a standup guy that I enjoyed doing business with for quite a while. My wife and I always looked forward to stopping by the shop when we were in the area. He was good to his customers and was an asset to the business community. He was also a great ambassador to promote bowhunting and archery in AZ. He will be missed by many. My condolences to his family over their loss.

LAST EDITED ON Jan-26-06 AT 07:04PM (MST)[p]A VERY sad day indeed. I can't believe the month or so ago I spoke with him on the phone was to be my last.

Van was a true bowhunter that will be missed immensely by not only Arizona residents, but also us hard-core bowhunters from neighboring states.

I can still remember a few years back when he talked me into "exchanging" state archery record books with him, as he was so proud of their latest BIA edition.

His ability to network with us (members of California Bowmen Hunters) and gain our participation in his states' record book program was second to none. He will be sorely missed.
