As Doug Miller would say if he were still around, three thumbs up for the deer hunt this year, followed shortly by another disappointing deer hunt.

All the hype about improving deer herds in Utah is almost enough to make me want to hunt Utah again.

I have max points for antlerless moose but I would much rather see them transplanted or left alone.

I just don't see private landowners letting 12,000 elk hunters onto their property.
Even without written permission.

Didn't like the cow moose tags either.

I watched the board meeting online and I'm surprised they didn't address all the youth archery tags that nobody applies for.

Also..it was brought up a few times increasing the youth opportunity for youth any bull tags. The odds of drawing are horrible! Yes there is other opportunities for them to hunt cow elk and such, which they decreased the tags. But I think the importance of adding more youth any bull tags is because it's prime hunting time during the rut. Also a rifle in a youths hands is something they should consider more opportunity for the youth to experience.
