I was wondering if any body hit the place by holladay gun club at the base of big cottonwood this year for sheds and if they had luck? later cant wait till next year
All of the land where the deer winter is private land, very little of it is accessible. I talked to the owner of the gun club and it sounded like he pretty much keeps a close eye on who goes on his land and who doesn't, although he has let me look around occasionally but I never find much.
I had been watching a nice four point almost everyday and when they started losing their antlers I went looking for them but couldn't find anything and I know that the buck stayed within about a 500 yard radius for those weeks leading up to when he lost his antlers. I am sure that the owner ran up and picked them up as soon as they fell. I tried to ask him about it but he seemed pretty tightliped otherwise he is a pretty nice guy. Do you live near the gun club? I went up ther like in ealy may i was late for sure Ifigured someone went through there but I went.I found one fresh antler a little 3 point thats it. Im sure the owner scarfs them up quick write back and tell me how many you found up there this year
I found just one small 2 point this year. There have been some pretty nice deer up there occasionally. I live in Cottonwood Heights so I try and keep a close eye on the deer around here. I would like to see some of the sheds that you have. Maybe we can get together. Let me know. Jared
