Utah Archery Elk Season Dates?

I am just wondering if anybody else out there feels alittle short changed when it comes to the date of out LE Archery elk hunt go's? How come we have to share the mountian with Archery deer hunters and on some units, spike hunters? Wouldnt it be great to have it like the guys that have LE Rifle tags and have the mountian to ourselves? And be able to hunt during the peak of the rut? If you ask me, we need 1-2 more weeks on the mountian with just LE Archery elk hunters, don't get me wrong, I do like to hunt deer with a bow and I do hunt spikes with my bow, but I will admit, I have accidently screwed up people with Any bull tags when hunting on public land, that is part of the reason I put in and drew a LE Archery Elk tag this year that does not have spike hunters on it. Just wondering your views.

Here is my view; if it bothers you, apply for the ANY WEAPON hunts. You can hunt the "peak of the rut" and have no general season guys out there.

I agree! Archery hunters are short changed. The any weopon hunts(rifle hunts) get the best dates! why not give the archers the prime dates, after all its more of a chalenge with a bow. I was helping a friend on a Archery Elk hunt on the book cliffs last year and the bulls we were after he could have shot with a rifle every day. We got close to closing the deal on the last couple days but had to quit hunting when the rutt action had just started to heat up, it was real frustrating!
The real pisser is on the open bull units the dates are the same. This year the Archery Elk hunt ends on friday the 14th, there are no any weapon hunts starting on the 15th on the open bull units, explain that one!
