Quick question for bow hunters here on M.M. Have any of you ever tried using a calf high moccasin? I have been thinking about getting some instead of doing the whole thing with the pair of thick socks and taking off my boots. Any info or feedback would be great!

believe it or not, surfing booties work well. keeps the pricklys from pokin your feet. I'm sure that moccasins work well too!!

makes perfect sense to me...and has to be better then any sock...i would think just regular would be fine with less weight to pack around until needed...

I use "bears feet" over my boots when on a stalk. They really are quiet and you don't have to worry about cactus or trying to find where you left your boots.

I've considered using "teepee walkers" too. I know I'm alot quieter when I can "feel" whats under my feet. I was using Stalkin' feet but I'm looking for something else. If you give it a try let us know how it goes!!!

I purposely bought a pair and have used them for past 5 years or so, worked pretty well for me. As expected they weren't as quiet as the thick pair of socks, but much more comfortable. I packed the moccasins and took off my boots and slipped the moccasins on for spot and stalk only. Saved my feet from all the AZ cactus!

Thanks for the insight and opinions/suggestions. I will definately let all of you know.
