Rich,
I'll be just a little north of you in 83 I should be there between October 7-15. Also drew a Deer tag for the new early Hunt in 119 didn't use many points and I know the area well so should be decent hunt.
When will you be up there ?
LAST EDITED ON Jun-26-16 AT 07:09PM (MST)[p]I am not a resident in Wyoming yet, but I will be in March 2017. I saw a few really nice bucks off the highway on unit 67 when I was over there a few weeks ago. Have fun and keep us posted on how you do once your hunt ends. I am sure you will make the best of your hunt.
My brother in law drew a tag for antelope on unit 58 south of Rock Springs so I will be helping him out this fall on his second hunt ever. I took him on his first deer hunt last year.
I have OR deer on my lease til Oct 12 and will head there prior to elk second season in CO. So anywhere from 10 to 20 of October. Going to hunt it late.
I drew 67 along with my dad and two brothers. We had 6.5 pts averaged in the special draw. We're from WI and this will be our first goat hunt. We've hunted elk every fall since '98 so this will be a big change for us. Looking forward to a great hunt. We are planning on arriving a couple days prior to the opener to get familiar with the unit and then plan in hunting for a few days. If we can stay off the trigger that is...seem like a really tough animal to score!
They are hard to judge. Love to hunt them though. More mistakes are made mis-judging antelope than any other animals. The one thing I found is that big antelope look big and if you are talking yourself into it walk away.
