UNIT 56 ????????? Limite Entry???????

I hear a rumor that unit 56 which used to be a 6 day hunt and 4pt or better got turned into a limited entry???? Can anyone confirm or deny this for me???? I'm talking the Pocatello Valley west of Malad.

I've checked the website and can't find anything on it, haven't been able to check an actual procalamation yet, hoping someone here will fill me in.

No it didn't...it actually got turned into a season long any buck hunt, instead of the five day war. Why would you want to put in on that hunt anyways..IDFG absolutely destroyed that unit. Hunt runs from 10th of oct to 31

Maybe you are thinking of unit 70, which was a 5 day buck hunt and is now a limited entry unit. It is directly south of Pocatello

LAST EDITED ON Sep-02-08 AT 10:04AM (MST)[p]You must be thinking of Unit 70, south of Pocatello. Units 70 and 73 have been one week hunts, 4 pt or better since about 2004. The G&F made Unit 70 a limited (175 tags) unit for mule deer this year. I got lucky in the draw and I'll be there the first week to hunt. I suspect the game wardens will be patrolling the unit heavily during the season to try and catch some of the folks that haven't read or heard of the new restrictions.
