Unit 53 elk ??

Just flipping thru rulebook and seen that 53 is open for any elk untill end of the year. Is there any elk in that unit never been out there and thinking about it since I haven't got my elk tag for 39 yet anybody been out in that area

I bought that tag last year beacause I liked the dates. Hunted the area several times and did not see any elk. Basically the season is designed to put enough pressure on the elk to keep them out of the unit. I took a shotgun and some calls and killed a few birds and some coyotes.
