Early or later in the season? Are there a lot of antelope in this unit?

We already have a place to hunt. Just wandered if there were a lot of speed goats .

The antelope population is fair. The pickens get pretty slim by the end of the season on the publically accessible areas. If you are hunting one of those areas I'd plan on hunting the opener.

Thanks for your input. We were trying to decide when to go and it helps to know that. We are not really trophy hunting but like everyone we would like to get a good buck. This is my first antelope hunt and I'm really looking forward to the whole experience. I have hunted big game for over 45 years(Elk deer bear) its nice to try a new animal.
