Hi guys,
I'm new to this site. I live up in the Idaho panhandle and have drawn the 10/1-10/9 muzzleloader deer hunt this year. Never been to this unit before and was wondering where to camp? I plan to enter Unit 43 through Fairfield and probably camp along the South Fork of the Boise River and then explore the unit's trails on a Yamaha Bigwheel. Good plan?
How's the deer herd in there these days during those dates? I plan to hold out for a mature buck...are there generally some in there?
Would the deer be as high as Newman Peak or lower, say a couple miles up from the river?
Looking forward to some time exploring a new unit.
Suggestions welcome... and thanks.
