Unit 42 Antelope

Girlfriend, her son Zack and I drew. Looking for a lil help. Got this area from F&G @ the RMEF Convention in Reno last February. Just looking for an area they can get some shooting and spark that fire. Want their first big game hunt to be fun and successful.

We'll be huntin kinda late, after my Colorado archery elk hunt. Help on a place to set up a wall tent and stake out a couple of horses would be appreciated too.

Antelope are every where,find some BLM land ,you can camp for free and hunt right out ofyour camp.Lots of fun,youshould have no problem taking your animals.
I have not hunted in 42,but have hunted acouple of times in 47 and plan on being there again next year.

Use to hunt 47 and 42 for antelope but in 42 we hunted on Private land till the rancher sold it. Still there is some public ground in the unit.

Get blm maps for Albany county I used to hunt North East of Rock River and always saw lots of antelope.

There also might be some walk in hunting ground available too.

Rem, not familiar with that part of Wy, junipers to tie a picket line in??? I'll haul water no problem. On the way home from a elk hunt so the horses will be there.

Most of the area that I have saw is rolling low sagebrush. I think that there is a small amount of mountains in the NW part of the unit that would be good place to camp,if it is accessable?

Can you camp at either of the Wheatland Reseviors?? They look like they are in 42.

There is Blm right around the Weatland resivoir #3

but there are sections of BLM here and there throughout the unti which you can camp on
