I was across the road in 43 two weeks ago. I thought maybe a bunch of the deer/elk would have moved over, like an early migration. No such luck. Saw pretty much the same critters we had the two previous trips in. Did not get into the burn country, but from our vantage point it didn't look as black as I had envisioned it.

i was up in unit 39 today near where the fire was and it hardly looked like it burned. i saw a few deer and lots of elk. not bad considering i got a late start on the morning. what i wouldnt give for an early 39 archery elk tag...
