Unit 29

[hunts4elk]

I archery hunted elk in unit 29 from about 1998 to 2008 and stopped when the hunter numbers soared along with the wolf problems. Now that the wolves are being hunted and the tag sales are down, I'm curious how the elk herds are doing there. I live in Oregon so it's difficult for me to get over there and check.

I'm not looking for any secret spots or advice on where to go, I've got that part figured out. Just wondering how the elk numbers are doing.

I have a buddy who hunted over there this year and saw tons of elk.

He missed one 6 point, was fully drawn 5 other times and ended up coming home with a nice 5 point.
