Unit 13A, yep that's where I'm applying in 2023

Last year a couple of my friends here in Kingman somehow got drawn for a pair of the 35 13A deer tags. Horrible weather, massive snow storm, made it tough to get around, but both of my friends got er done.

I was fortunate to be with them when both bucks were taken. Lisa was on her first ever deer hunt, and took her buck on Day 7.

Joe got his on Day 3. 35+ inches wide 6x5

Fun time with those folks, was glad to help.

I think 12A West late will be my second choice.

I heard Unit 13B wasn't so great last year, with just a handful of super bucks being taken.

Nice bucks Don. Have not heard from you in awhile. My friend should draw 12AW Early this year. So we might see you on the Kiabab. Wish you luck.

This year's moisture should get some points only max points nonresidents to jump in. A max points nonresident (26 points going in this year) would have to be the first one drawn with only one tag, should be about 1:10 if everyone repeats what they did last year. I think it will be worse. 12AW late looks to have a bonus tag to the 25 point pool going in this year if everyone repeats, but again, I think more will apply. It doesn't take much movement to substantially change odds on 1-2 tags.

I think last year 2 max point guys applied for 12AW late taking the bonus tags. I would not be surprised if that happens again. I am 1 under max Trying to get the Late tag, we will see.

3269 nonresidents put it first or second. Two tags to the bonus points draw that most have some points in. For sure less than 1:2000.

I got a late 12 A west tag with only 7 points in 2018. Sure pays to be a Resident. Got the Buck in My Avatatar. Good luck all. I only have 4 points but guess where I'M applying?...............BULL!
