Unit 1

I am thinking of deer hunting Unit 1 in Idaho this November. I see that 90% of the kill is whitetail. If I go high, can I find a muley?

Not many.

even up high you'll bump a dozen whiteys to bump one mulie. just being up high theres a VERY slight better chance of seeing one. the whiteys share bedrooms with the mulies.

Thanks men. When in Rome....I might just whack a whitetail. How about ol' griz. I see that Idaho has a griz warning for unit 1.

griz can be anywhere.. i saw the tracks and talked to a guy from fish and game to confirm what i saw.. traveled down the east side of priest lake up in the mountains, down around the bottom then back up north on the west side in about 2 weeks.. i saw the tracks up indian creek on the east side.. fish and game tracked him the whole way. just be aware.. lots of black bear around
