Unexpected elk find

For the past 2 weekends I have been shed hunting and did not expect any elk sheds because the area is not know for its elk numbers, well I was pleasently surprised with my finds.

This is a fresh 345 class bull if his other side matched:

The next two are a 320 class bull if he wasn't broken; it looks like he had a third brow tine that he broke along with his 2nd and 3rd.

And here is the one side of this bull (the only time I had my camera):

Here is all the elk sheds together from the past 2 weekends:

Pretty darn good for not expecting. I know places known for elk and usually dont do that good........

Oh, I forgot to ask....what is the furthest apart you have found matching sheds on a big bull like the first pic? I looked all over in the surrounding area and cannot find the other side. The 320 bull had both sides within about 75 yards.
What do you guys think?

That thing looks freakishly long. How many inches?

And another question to your question: unless they're laying close together, how do you know you've found a matching set?

In one particular area that I hunt I've found several that all appear to be interchangable with each other. Is diameter of the base a good indicator?

The big one is a 51 inch main beam.

I guess I am just assuming it is a set because they were about 50 yards apart, they have a very similar coloration, and their measurements are very similar. I'm sure its possible it could be another bull but they are awefully close.

Nice sheds but to get to a 345 bull you need 157 inches on each side. Not seeing that....tell us the measurements...main beam, mass, and total tine length please. you only found one antler...don't assume anything.

toughshed, you have to assume something on a shed....that is, assuming the other side matches the one you found. Plus you have to assume an inside spread. Most big bulls are going to have an inside spread larger than 31 inches
