UM Creek

I recently went up to the FIshlake area looking around my unit and decided to fish on 7 mile creek for a little bit. I did not catch a single fish nor did I see anybody else that had caught one. I only saw 1 fish and it was about 4 inches long. I am taking the whole family up on July 9th. I have decided to fish UM creek, it sounds better than 7 mile. Any advice on what flies or lures may work that time of year? I am not a big time fisherman but still love to fish when I am just up camping. Would love to see the kids catch some, Thanks.

When where you fishing 7 mile ? I was up there the weekend of the 8th. I saw a few people fishing 7 mile. They where just walking up and down the shore fishing in front of them selfs. On a small creek like that as soon as the fish see you there are gone. Danger comes from above.

Here is one my daughter caught. She had no bait. So she started turning rocks over until she found something to fish with.

Stay out of sight.

Keep really low to the ground as you approach the stream. Somebody suggested that you need to staying out of sight.

Fish it up or down stream or across stream, deep holes, or riffs. Beaver pond killer. Stay out of sight. Don't shake the ground when you sneak up on the stream, very soft and very light approach. These small shallow stream fish have been spooked by a hundred anglers a week, besides every predator that creeps, crawls or flies. Did I mention, you'll need to stay out of sight?
