The system lends itself to a lot of abuse and fraud. The state and Feds need to crack down on this practice of "loaning SSN's". She should have been directed to a Catholic charity group for help instead.

I may catch some flack for saying this but, what they should have done is deport her ars back to her rightful country before she had the baby. This way we would not be in danger of splitting up a "Rightfully born citizen" of the USA and its mother and or father later on if they ever are deported.
