LAST EDITED ON Oct-12-04 AT 10:43AM (MST)[p]Well, here he is. I got back yesterday from a great trip back home to TX. I was fortunate enough to harvest this great buck. He offically scored at 81 even gross, and netted 80 2/8ths. He makes the two year Boone & Crockett book, barely. He was right at 15 inches on each horn, but his mass is what got the score up where it is. He had 7 inch bases and 7 inch second circumferences. Both prongs were 5 inches . He was aged by the biologist at 6.5 years of age. We also saw quite a few other decent bucks in the area as well. We also got into and took a couple of free range aoudad rams too but that is a different story. Good luck this fall and hope you enjoy the pics,

Sounds like you had a great hunt! Kudos on a the nice pics of your big anty!

Nice goat, Scott! It looks pretty flat in the background. How was the sneaking up close? Aoudads near Palo Dura Canyon?
Sent ya a PM about 36c while you were gone. Just epoxied on a Simms recoil pad on that Benelli. Don't see why the use those made from something as hard as recycled truck tires.

Yeah Doug, it was pretty flat up there where we were hunting antelope. But there was plenty of breaks in the country. But that herd was on a huge flat that was wide open as they come!

The aoudads were in the Palo Duro. They are a hit or miss animal up there cuz they can go wherever they want to. But we saw about 7 or 8 while we were out. All rams too. I'll get back at ya about that PM.

Congrats on a great hunt. I like the "heart" shaped horns! Look like you already have your Valentine's Day card all made up!
