Turning in a tag question?

Hey guys, I have a question for everyone. I'm usually an archery hunter, but due to work and a new baby girl, I couldn't get out this year. My buddy called me and asked if I wanted to go up on the spike elk hunt this coming weekend, but come to find out the tags are sold out. But, he told me his brother has a tag and can't go. So my question is. Can I take that tag to the dwr and switch it to my name. I'd really appreciate any input. I'm dying having not been able to hunt at all.

I would say that the two of you (the one that has the tag and yourself) need to just go in and talk to them in person and they will be able to tell you yes or no.

Nope, you can't switch tags. Gotta buy those tags early next year.
