Trykon Cams?

I just purchased a 2006 Trykon. I am just wondering if:

1) Any of the new cams (Vector, C2) work on this bow?

2) Has anyone heard if Hoyt will begin producing the black cams for the public soon?

The reason I ask is the bow is used and the draw length is 1/2" shorter than i'd like.

Thanks in advance for any help.

don't know anything about the cams, but you can use a string loop to extend the draw length.

I'm sure all the production is slated towards new bows at this time. I would take your grip off and you will pick up 1/4". Hoyts normally come 1/4" long so there you have your half inch. Make any fine adjustments with your loop as 3d mentioned. After the 1st quarter of 2007 I'd call hoyt to see if it will work. They can tell you in an few minutes and the information will most likely be correct. You may have to consider limb deflection and different strings and cable lengths to make the switch. The vector cam actually makes the Vectrix more of a true center shot bow than the Zephyr so you may have an issue with clearance on your riser (probably not). In any case I would doulble check what you found out with your pro shop after they call Hoyt to see if it can be done. Hope this helps.

Thanks a bunch gentlemen. The following is what i've accomplished:

1) Shot the bow for the first time tonight. I extended the string loop and got the right wrist release and everything fits perfectly.

2) The guy down at the pro shop thought that we could probably try either cam but he was a little ify as to how well we could get the bow tuned.

I still have one more question though. Anyone know if the Zephyr cams will come in black to the public anytime soon?

Thanks again for any help.

I would say they are in production now since they are featured on the 2007 Trykon but they must meet current orders, hence the after the first quarter comment above. You may be able to get a 2006 Zephyr from the factory in brown if that will help you. Looks like you got a handle on things I hope you like your new bow!

Thanks Boskee!

I called Hoyt yesterday to find out if they will produce the black Zephyr cams to the public and they told me "no". I don't know if that is just a ploy to get all the bronze cams out of there or what but he did tell me "no".
