Trout Fishing

Day before yesterday…….. five guys fishing for six hours, this was the only bit all day. The day before fishermen couldn’t keep the rainbows of their hooks.

Fish aren’t fickle but unless you know their behavior you have to just be lucky and putting in the time……… I don’t know fish behavior………. so I to have rely on luck and hours on the water.

On the other hand, the same day, two other grandsons, caught 20 brook trout/tiger , twenty miles away. They know and study fish behavior…….. it’s a science.

WOW those are beautiful!

Fishing throughout all 4 seasons is a blast. Different styles and approaches that make you think and adjust your game.

I’ve only had one miserable day fishing, it was about 6°, could not get a fish to eat to save my life, and my fly line kept freezing up about every 2-3 minutes. Other than that trip, it’s always a good time to wet a line.

^^^^ Similar experience for me back in the early 90s while stationed at Kirtland AFB.

I got a bad itch to try the Rio grand gorge in January. No fish and large fluffy balls of soft ice floating down the river. Not a good day.

Other than that I enjoyed year round fishing in NM.

Thank you.

Those boys do study fish and entomology as it relates to fish and their exploits demonstrate they have learned a lot. I can’t say they never strike out but it’s rare. Another MM posted that he almost always catches fish, my guess he’s another, fisherman specialist too.

As for me…….. not at all a knowledgeable fisker.
