Last year on my son hunt the guide had a tripod that also was used as a rifle rest. The legs went for say like 2ft to 4 and then the center could raise high enough to stand and look threw the binc. The bino got like clamped inwith a piece off the side.Had a nice flat top that the rifle could lay on to shoot off.Not just looking for this one and info on a good tripod would be nice.Would be using to hold a pair of 15x56 bino. Thanks Bill c

LAST EDITED ON Feb-21-11 AT 01:41PM (MST)[p]Tripods are great to shoot off of. I use my camera tripod for my spotting scope with a quick disconnect. When I want to shoot off of it, I invert the handle into a V and lock it in place with my stocking cap on it to protect the stock and make an even better rest, thus killing two birds with one stone.

I have a whole room full of tripods
The best Ive found is the Vortex High Country
Its small enough to pack around.Yet it will extend to about 5'tall
