I am going to get a tree stand soon. Does anybody know of good tree stands? I don't want an expensive one.

I have wanted a stand as well and have been doing alot of checking into, and I think I am going to go with a Summit. I have 4 hang on stands and I am not sure that I like them because they are not as easy to move as a self climber. Plus I dont like being 18 feet in the air trying to secure it to a tree. I have never used a self climber but the stand up-sit down models look like the cats meow. I will let you know after this season.

I have been useing the api bowhunter for the last 2 seasons,Been a great stand can sit in it for 5-6 hrs with ease. I would look at weight more than anything when you buy one.

For my money you just cannot beat a Gorilla. they are very light weight to carry and have a very generous weight limit (most are 300 lbs). They have a unique camover system that locks them on to the tree and they are very comfortable. Almost every one they have is under a 100 bucks. I know i will be buying a couple more this year!!

I have been hunting out of Ole Man climbing stands for years in Mississippi. I spend probably 40 mornings a year hangin on the side of a tree and the only stand I use is the Ole man Vision.

I just got a gorilla stand for easily under a $100 and it is awesome ! I even got the King Kong model and it has a huge seat and standing platform. It is awesome and already comes with safety harness. Can't beat them brotha' !
