How many people here have had good luck with tree stand hunting muleys? We have the bucks semi patterend in our area, and the recieve very little archery pressure. This is the first year we have went all out with the treestands and have them in multiple locations. I guess we will ahve to see if it plays out. September 1st is still too far away!

Thanx

Do you see the same deer coming in a pattern, or are they random deer passing a likley place? We think we have the deer patterned, most of the time.

I have elk hunted and on the higher up trails I find mule deer tracks on the trails also. They might use the trails on a regular basis in the heavier timber where it is steep and has down fall. But out in open hills I believe they have no set pattern as where they walk. It would be a more hit and miss on the tree stands as you have only a certain area for them to pass. I would rather be on the ground and try to get in front of them and have the mobility to move higher and lower on a ridge and try to get them to pass near you.
But it could be possible with a treestand. But who knows when they pass threw.

Yea, we know that they pass in between 2 sets of trees pretty much all morning until just after first light. They cross a road then hit a fence line, and then they follow the fence to were it takes off in a different direction. The only problem with the set up is that we do not know which deer do it every day, so we do not know if the bigger bucks will be following this trial. I guess we will find out in 3 days. Thanx.

The deer come from one way as they are headed to the deep timber to bed.
